Grain Millers is one of North America's premier Oat Milling companies that supplies customers across Canada, U.S.A and Worldwide. We are hiring a Shipper/Shunt Truck Operator for our Yorkton plant. This is a permanent position. You are required to work 12-hr Modified Shift schedule, which requires you to work both Nights and weekends shifts.
You will be responsible for but not limited to movement of trailers in and out of the dock doors, trailer lot and/or around company property, ensure all loads are secure while following safety procedures, monitor truck condition, perform and document daily pre-trip inspection of the shunt truck. You are also required to complete all documentation and paperwork with at most attention to detail and accuracy. This position is a part of the shipping department which requires additional duties such as dispatch of finished products, loading the trucks, vessel inspection, reject truck if they do not meet requirements, transfer products in the warehouse with forklift and other PMEs and any other duties as they arise.
Qualifications:
Must hold a Valid Class 1A Truck License with and meet all medical standards as required by regulation.
Previous shunting/trucking experience of 1-3 years is required.
The ability to operate 53 ft. trailers including backing up is required.
Must hold or can obtain a valid Saskatchewan forklift operator certificate.
Forklift and shunt truck trouble shooting skills.
Experience in shipping / receiving duties in warehouse.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet are required.
Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills
Must be able to work in a physically demanding environment.
Must have the ability and be comfortable working in an outside environment with exposure to various temperatures and weather conditions.
