Position Summary:
This role focuses on supporting the centralized purchasing and procurement function, with an emphasis on respect for the land and community, which aligns with an Indigenous worldview. The position is ideal for individuals passionate about serving Indigenous communities. Preference may be given to Indigenous candidates.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain purchase authorization and vendor data.
Assemble tender documents and assist in bid and award processes.
Monitor and process transactions related to the P-card program.
Track corporate supplies and service contracts, and verify invoice releases.
Ensure timely entry of requisitions and purchase orders.
Assist in the distribution of tender packages and respond to purchasing inquiries.
Maintain filing systems and generate reports.
Key Qualifications:
Secondary school completion plus relevant training.
At least nine months of procurement-related experience.
Knowledge of procurement principles, administrative, financial, and clerical systems.
Familiarity with relevant policies, procedures, and technology.
Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to identify issues, consult, and follow policies.
Adaptability in prioritizing tasks and offering process improvement suggestions.
Additional Requirements:
Satisfactory criminal record check may be required.
Proof of education and additional assessments for competency evaluation may be necessary.
