Job Description:
Reporting to a Primary Health Manager, the Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) performs basic life support and also can deliver the widest range of advanced life support skills and
administration of medications currently allowed for paramedics in Saskatchewan. The ACP will take medical direction from Primary Health Nurse Practitioners or Family
Physicians if applicable to the client care situation.
Human Resources Exemption: No
Education
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic/Advanced Care currently licensed in the Province of Saskatchewan.
- Current CPR level "C"
- Current ACLS and PALS
- Current ITLS - Advanced.
- Certified in Phlebotomy and Dangerous Goods Transport is an asset.
Experience
- Minimum of 18 months previous experience working as an Advanced Care Paramedic.
- Previous community based experience is an asset.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Highly developed clinical skills and knowledge as an Advanced Care Paramedic. Outstanding communication skills verbal and written enabling best care outcomes for patients/clients. Exemplary ability to take charge of a client's personal care intervention to ensure scene safety and prioritize patient care when faced with crucial clinical decisions while working closely with other care teams such as the Primary Health Nurse Practitioners, Emergency Physicians, Primary Health Team and Family Physicians.
