Description

Avena Foods is actively seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this position is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining all equipment in accordance with safety, preventive, predictive & productive maintenance systems.

Key Responsibilities
Maintain production line equipment & tools to ensure safety & minimize downtime
Perform preventative maintenance, servicing, troubleshooting and repair on all processing equipment, including bucket elevators, conveyors, blowers, milling machines and packing equipment to ensure reliability and safety
Focus on safe working practices and quality workmanship
Complete assigned work orders on a timely fashion. Update Hippo on status and completion of work orders.
Ensure good housekeeping within entire building
Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service

Qualifications
High school diploma, GED or equivalent
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar role
Experience in preventative maintenance; electrical, mechanical and pneumatic trouble shooting
Food Grade Manufacturing experience or Industrial Agricultural maintenance
Strong attention to detail & ability to work independently in a busy environment
Ability to react to urgent production maintenance issues.
Highly flexible with solid interpersonal skills
Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Standards and Practices
Able to operate forklift & aerial lifts
Must follow all work instructions, Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety Procedures, Illness and Disease Policy and all other company policies and procedures.

*This is a shift position which may include evenings and weekends.  You may be required to work in ambient temperatures.  This position will require manual effort such as climbing ladders/stairs lifting materials, etc.
