The Compliance Auditor, Insurance reports to the Manager, Compliance Insurance. This position is responsible for investigating and auditing all aspects of the Insurance program administered by SCIC and/or any special projects. In addition, this position is responsible for conducting routine audits of customer claims in the field.
This position will be responsible for the following CSO areas: North Battleford, Rosetown, Leader and Kindersley, one of which will be assigned as a primary office/CSO with consideration for a hybrid or remote work arrangement which is dependent on office space availability. The successful candidate must live in or be willing to relocate to this region.
Conduct compliance audits on all SCIC Insurance programs.
Analyze claim information and obtain all necessary documentation from various sources to account for all production in relation to an audit.
Interview customers and take statements.
Assist senior audit staff in highly sensitive investigations.
Support and act as a mentor to new Compliance and Operations staff
Provide training to staff across the province on audit processes.
Prepare documents detailing the events of alleged fraud for senior management, Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation (SCIC) directors, and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).
Complete appropriate documentation such as special reports, various forms, field maps, bin maps, plant count calculations, and hail counts.
Carry out special projects in conjunction with Insurance Unit.
Communicate audit purpose, process and findings to customers.
Make recommendations for changes to policy and procedures.
Propose corrective actions and make recommendations to Compliance Manager.
Analyze records to ensure accuracy and compliance with policy and procedure.
Participate in regional and provincial audit appeals.
