Description

The Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement is seeking a team-oriented and dynamic professional to join the Education Infrastructure branch. The Education Infrastructure branch is dedicated to both K-12 and post-secondary projects throughout the Province. The successful candidate will work on the branchs post-secondary projects in collaboration with stakeholders in the post-secondary sector throughout the province to meet government objectives.

This position is a unique and challenging opportunity. It requires a highly motivated and innovative professional, who will have two core functions: capital planning and project management. The successful candidate will work in the Capital Planning Unit, and on a major capital project; the new Joseph A. Remai Saskatoon campus.

Reporting to the Director of Capital Planning, the position will provide strategic planning, and technical advice to the Ministries of SaskBuilds and Procurement and Advanced Education, as well as other stakeholders such as post-secondary institutions. As the successful candidate, your role will be to perform planning, business case development, budgeting, reporting, and risk management. You will be consulted on multi-year facility needs, evaluating facility planning initiatives, and reviewing project proposals. You will lead the ongoing review and development of project funding criteria which will include reviewing project capital costs, ensuring legislative compliance and financial reporting, developing project completion processes, and performing risk identification and recommending mitigation strategies.
