MGBHLM First Nation is looking for a qualified full-time Administrative Assistant. This position provides confidential executive support to the Director of Education with emphasis on ensuring timely and effective follow-up of decisions as well as implementation of assigned projects with minimal direction. This may include acting as a board secretary, organizing correspondence, developing reports and general clerical duties including typing, photocopying, and filing. The Administrative Assistant will also take on Finance Clerk responsibilities to ensure effective, efficient, and accurate financial and administrative operations. Reports to the Director of Education.
Responsibilities
Maintain schedules and engagement calendars for the Director of Education.
Coordinate travel, meetings, workshops, events, and logistics.
Input, proofread, and finalize correspondence, reports, forms, and presentations.
Maintain organized office and electronic filing systems.
Respond to in-person, phone, and electronic inquiries or direct as needed.
Provide general info to clients and the public; greet visitors and parents.
Photocopy, collate, distribute, and file documents.
Qualifications
Grade 12 diploma (required); post-secondary admin training preferred.
Minimum 1 year of office/administrative assistant experience.
Strong computer and tech skills: Microsoft Office, database management, file systems.
Confident operating office equipment: phones, printers, photocopiers, laminators.
Keyboarding speed of 60 WPM.
Advanced English, spelling, and document formatting skills.
Basic accounting knowledge and familiarity with office procedures.
