Key Responsibilities:
Supervise, lead, and coordinate the daily activities of public works staff, ensuring tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
Oversee the maintenance, repair, and construction of roads, drainage systems, and other municipal infrastructure.
Manage and operate heavy machinery, including graders, loaders, and other equipment as required.
Ensure all work complies with municipal policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Schedule and assign tasks to public works crew members based on project needs and priorities.
Monitor and report on the condition of municipal assets and equipment, ensuring they are properly maintained and serviced.
Assist with the planning and implementation of public works projects and seasonal maintenance.
Liaise with the public, contractors, and other stakeholders to address inquiries, concerns, and issues.
Prepare reports and maintain records related to maintenance, equipment, and staff activities.
Participate in budget planning, procurement, and cost management for public works operations.
Assist with emergency response and snow clearing operations when required.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role
Strong knowledge of municipal infrastructure, road maintenance, drainage systems, and heavy equipment operation.
Valid Class 5 Saskatchewan drivers license (or equivalent), with the ability to operate heavy machinery and vehicles.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
