Keeseekoose Chiefs Education Center is accepting applications for Principal of the Prek-Gr.12 school of 180 Students. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to sound educational values and will demonstrate a deep understanding and appreciation of the Anishinaabeg language and culture.
Academic, technical and professional competence:
Must hold a valid Saskatchewan Professional A Teaching Certificate and be registered with the Saskatchewan Teachers Professional Regulatory Board (SPTRB)
Preference will be given to candidates with a Master of Education or those with advanced education, training and/or certification in school-based leadership, educational administration.
A demonstrated working knowledge of the various government funding arrangements, programs, regulations and practices, curriculum guidelines and criteria relevant to the administration of a school program.
Skills and Qualification
Responsible for ensuring that all students are instructed, assessed, and supported in a safe and welcoming learning environment.
Serve as a role model and assist staff and community in creating a top-quality educational experience that is culturally based for all students.
Knowledgeable about Indigenous education, including the importance of place-based, land-based and Treaty education, working with Elders and Knowledge Keepers.
Indigenous language and culture skills are an asset to this position.
The ability and willingness to make difficult decisions in a timely manner, demonstrating good judgement, respect for the organizational policies and Keeseekoose traditions and values.
