The WDM is seeking a Programs and Volunteer Associate Manager to lead the development of strategic programming and volunteer initiatives. This role ensures programs align with museum goals and community needs while supporting the integration of volunteers across operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Develops, evaluates, and refines education and public programs that are historically accurate, accessible, and engaging.
Aligns programming strategies with the WDMs strategic plan and curatorial priorities.
Establishes and tracks metrics to assess the impact, reach, and effectiveness of programs.
Supports the implementation of educational initiatives and public programs across WDM locations.
Oversees curriculum content development and leads specialized training courses.
Creates and maintains policies for volunteer recruitment, training, and recognition.
Strengthens community partnerships to support volunteer engagement.
Works with Museum Managers to integrate volunteers into daily operations.
Maintains a comprehensive volunteer database and tracks participation across all sites.
Promotes WDM programming through internal and external channels (e.g., blogs, publications, conferences).
Collaborates with marketing and communications teams to highlight programs and volunteer contributions.
The work schedule is full-time with 72 hours per 2-week pay period. This position includes paid sick leave, participation in the Public Employees Pension Plan (with employer contribution matching), and health and dental benefits as per the WDM Benefits Package.
