Candidates must qualify under the Young Canada Works at Building Careers in Heritage Program.
Duties Include:
Collection Management/Documentation
-To relocate all artifacts (approximately 2000) according to category and material in the new Collection storage/management space with proper records and to follow museum standards in the placement of objects in the enhanced storage areas.
- To update all records that indicate exactly locations (physical files, Excel and SaskCollections database)
- To have a minimum of 30 additional artifacts fully documented over the internship Including paper/digital records and scans/photographs
- To take the necessary training to transfer Collection information on to the SaskCollections database (Museums Association of Saskatchewan) and to transfer existing documentation to this platform (nomenclature and images)
Programs
-To work with the Board in the planning/execution/evaluation of at least three community based programs in the fall/early winter 2025 including but not limited to volunteer scheduling, determining equipment/supplies required for each program
-To promote the programs through social media, website
Administration
-To develop networks with existing partners, volunteers, other museums
-To attend all Board meetings to provide input and update work activities as assigned
-To maintain Museum records such as minutes, correspondence and documentation of events.
-To assist with the drafting of sponsorship/grant proposals and interim reports
-Opening and closing of the facility and provide the Facility Committee with updates related to any concerns
-To ensure that the grounds are kept clean in the fall months
