Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, knowledgeable individual to fill the Assistant Director spot at Gator Park Co-Operative Child Care Centre.
The right candidate will have the following qualifications:
    Hold a level II or III certificate/diploma in Early Childhood Education as deemed by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Early Learning and Child Care.
    Be certified in CPR Level C and First Aid.
    Hold their Basic Safe Food Handling Certificate (or be willing to obtain it)
    Have prior experience in a child care setting.
Responsibilities and duties include assisting the Executive Director with the following:
    Ensuring the centre and its operation meet all legal and regulatory requirements in accordance with Saskatchewan Labour Standards Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Human Rights Act, Privacy Act, Trade and Union Act and Saskatchewan Child Care Licensee Manual.
    Work Collaboratively with the Board of Directors.
    Provide appropriate information to staff and membership.
    Recruiting and retaining a diverse staff.
    Orienting staff and volunteers.
    Developing and maintaining employee scheduling.
    Managing employees performance.
    Establishing a positive and respectful work environment.
    Managing the monthly finances.
    Maintaining a harmonious and co-operative relationship with the general public, schools, communications, etc.
    Advocating with other Child Care organizations to improve the quality of care.
    Being actively involved in professional organizations.
The right candidate should also possess the following skills:
    Working knowledge of Windows and Excel.
    Is familiar with generally accepted accounting principles.
    Is able to recognize and take appropriate actions in cases of suspected abuse, illness and accident.
    Is knowledgeable in current ideas and research pertaining to child development and care.
    Is able to multi-task.
    Demonstrates effective leadership.
    Has strong interpersonal communication skill
