Delivery of Bridging to Employment for Newcomers Program:
Able to work with highly skilled newcomers
Create Registration, student Assessment forms, evaluation tools
Recruitment and Assessment of Participants
Promotion of the program
Continuous review, development of Programs curriculum, & student workbook
Monitor classroom supplies
Deliver the 10-week in-classroom skills training instruction
Develop program reporting system
Connect to local employers in the community
Administer, assists participants in the SIS application process & wage subsidy process
Organize & monitor the 10-week Work placement Program
Provide continuous, one on one career guidance & counselling
Completion & submission of the Programs Outcomes and Evaluation reports
This position requires a high level of confidentiality. Complete various other duties as required by the Executive Director.
Qualifications:
Post-Secondary or Bachelors Degree in Education, Social Work, Human Resources, Psychology, or equivalent work experience
ESL certifications, preferred, and/ or equivalent work experience or willing to acquire one within a year of employment
Proven ability to work effectively with diverse clients especially with newcomers
Understanding CLB Benchmark levels
Strong facilitation skills with proven experience- pre-employment, job search,communication,employability skills, job readiness,computer literacy etc
Experience in planning & delivering mentorship programs
Experiential Knowledge of labour market trend, job search strategies & job development
Superior oral,written communication skills & presentation skills
Excellent time management & organization skills, able to work well with minimal supervision
Proficiency in computer literacy skills; MS Office Applications, internet access & others
Access to a vehicle & a valid drivers license
Successful candidate will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Reference & Vulnerable Sector Check.
