This position is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs grant and all applicants must be between the ages of 15 and 30 years old, a Canadian Citizen or permanent resident, or a person on whom refugee protection under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, S.C. 2001, c.27*, and is legally entitled to work in Canada. The Event Assistant will perform duties as directed by SFNWA staff, including procurement of sponsors, door prizes, and promotion of the event. The successful candidate will also proactively engage with existing and potential new members in assisting with event registrations. This role requires a highly organized, motivated, and resourceful individual who can effectively manage multiple projects while maintaining a high level of detail. This position will suit an individual who is committed to upholding standards of equity, transparency, consistency, and is detail oriented. Potential candidates will preferably identify as Indigenous or have Indigenous living experience, and/or a successful record of working with Indigenous people. Experience in working with First Nations in Saskatchewan and/or demonstrating knowledge of issues related to First Nations drinking water and/or wastewater would be assets taken under consideration.
