Key Responsibilities:

As a core member of the Environmental Services team, the Waterworks Manager will oversee the operation, maintenance, and regulatory compliance of Yorktons Class IV Wastewater Treatment and Class III Water Treatment systems. This leadership role ensures our water and wastewater systems are safe, reliable, and environmentally responsible.

Key duties include:

- Oversee plant operations, including process control adjustments, SCADA system oversight, and equipment maintenance.
- Supervise, train, and mentor staff in plant operations, safety procedures, and process optimization.
- Manage analytical laboratory work to maintain quality control standards.
- Ensure compliance with provincial and federal regulations, including the Canadian Drinking Water Quality Guidelines, Wastewater Systems Effluent Regulations (WSER), and Effluent Reporting Regulating Information System (ERRIS).
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies, consultants, contractors, and other municipal departments.
- Lead the preparation of operational reports, including monthly, annual, and special project reports.
- Participate in permit negotiations and maintain accurate compliance records.
- Assist in capital and long-range planning, contributing technical input to infrastructure projects.
