Description

The Southwest Newcomer Welcome Centre is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for individuals and families who have chosen to make this region their home.
We are currently seeking a dynamic and highly motivated individual for the temporary position of Recreational Programs Coordinator.
In collaboration with Settlement Workers, the Recreational Programs Coordinator will be responsible for:
Planning, coordinating, and executing projects that support the settlement and integration of newcomers.
Marketing, documenting, and evaluating project successes.
Creating and managing budgets for summer programs, events, and activities to ensure financial sustainability.
Procuring and maintaining equipment and supplies for program delivery.
Tracking expenses, ensuring cost efficiency, and preparing financial reports.
Setting clear objectives for each project, aligning them with the organization's values, mission, and goals.
Managing program venues, including setup and takedown of equipment.
Ensuring the safety of all program participants.
Coordinating, supervising, and supporting volunteers.
Preparing accurate reports that reflect the goals and outcomes of projects.
Performing other duties as assigned.
This position is funded by Canada Summer Jobs.
To be eligible, applicant must:
be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment.
be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment.
have related knowledge and experience.
Additional requirements include:
a criminal record check with Vulnerable Sector,  Fluency in another language will be an asset.
