Assistant Lead Hands supervise personnel on the plant floor, ensuring safe, harmonious, and efficient work practices. Ensure supply inventories are maintained. Assist with shipping & receiving; coordinate the movement of products entering the plant. Assist in general maintenance when necessary. Assist with employee performance evaluations. Assume duties of Lead Hand in their absence, attend training & workshops; perform other duties as assigned.
To be successful as an Assistant Lead Hand you will need:
- experience in industrial setting
- forklift certification
- valid Class 5 driver's license
- knowledge of OH&S regulations
- understanding of operation and maintenance of production equipment
- knowledge of computers
- a strong degree of professionalism while remaining highly personable and approachable in the company of people of all abilities, cultures, and backgrounds
- high ethical conduct
- a satisfactory criminal record check
- a commitment to teamwork and meeting team goals
- flexibility and willingness to change priorities and deadlines
This position works around plant and yard on a daily basis, with occasional office work. Bending, climbing, stretching, lifting, and toting are required. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
