Northeast Regional Victim Services collaborates with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (R.C.M.P.) to provide essential support to victims of crime and traumatic events. We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual for the position of Victim Services Assistant Coordinator. This role is based in Melfort and will involve serving various communities throughout the northeast region of Saskatchewan.
Position Overview:
The Victim Services Assistant Coordinator will play a vital role in assisting victims of crime and traumatic events during crisis situations and navigating the criminal justice system. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing emotional support and practical assistance to clients in crisis.
- Facilitating referrals to appropriate community agencies and resources.
- Managing and supervising volunteers to ensure effective service delivery.
- Reporting directly to the Coordinator and collaborating with team members to enhance service provision.
This position requires extensive travel within the northeast region, necessitating a flexible schedule, including participation in a rotating 24-hour on-call system.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Successful completion of an Enhanced Reliability R.C.M.P. Security Clearance check.
- Valid drivers license.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
