Autism Services of Saskatoon is looking for creative, dedicated and responsible individuals who enjoy interacting with children/youth (birth to 19) to work as a Behavior Therapist.
Working within the Autism Intervention Program, you will be a valued part of an interdisciplinary team comprised of awesome individuals passionate about working with children/youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families.
The program area is under the clinical oversight of a Director and Senior Autism Consultant, and as a behavior therapist, you will be responsible for delivering one-on-one programming developed specifically for each child. You need to have strong play skills, a positive attitude, and lots of energy and patience. You are a good multi-tasker, are organized, encouraging, and enthusiastic. You are able to take constructive feedback and implement it immediately in home and/or center-based therapy sessions. You will be able to coach parents through various target behaviors and skill acquisition plans. You should also feel comfortable presenting information about ASD to the public.
Position Details:
- Full time (35 hours/week) 1 year term position with possibility of renewal.
The ideal candidate will have:
- completed a University Degree or Regional College program in a field related to education, early childhood, social services, psychology or graduated from a Behavioral Science Technology Program.
- a minimum of two years' experience in the direct delivery of educational/therapeutic programs for children with ASD. Specific experience in the delivery of Applied Behaviour Analysis will be an asset.
- demonstrated understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorders
- highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to work respectfully and cooperatively with other team members.
- a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle (required).
- proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office.
