At WCCFSC, we offer a wide range of counselling and support services to individuals, couples, families and groups. We are seeking motivated, confident, creative and client-service oriented people. The WCCFSC Family Support Programs focus on providing supports to families who are experiencing stressors that create barriers to a healthy family life. The Support Worker supports families in areas such but not limited to parenting, daily living skills, facilitating family visits, wellness, and accessing community resources. The Support Worker works with the entire family often in their home to help increase family strengths and resources so as to prevent childrens out-of-home placement or to work toward family reunification. The Support Worker works flexible and client centred care plans with clients who require various types and levels of support and services within the Family Programs.

WCCFSC FSWs report directly to the WCCFSC Family Support Coordinator and working in contract collaboration with Ministry of Social Services-Child & Family Programs, this position plays a key role in supporting families to care for their children in a safe and nurturing home environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:
*Human Services Experience and Education is asset;
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
*Competency in computer skills;
*Familiarity with systemic barriers faced by vulnerable families;
*Knowledge of and belief in harm reduction philosophies;
*Frontline experience working with vulnerable families or children
*Have the use of a personal vehicle and willing to Travel;
*Criminal Record Check, vulnerable sector is required;
*Drivers Abstract, is required upon request.
