Under the supervision of the After-Hours Prevention Supervisor, the Prevention After Hours Support Worker will provide an after-hours prevention response to children, youth, and families for or the Muscowpetung, Little Black Bear, Pasqua, Starblanket and Peepeekisis First Nations. The goal is to provide wrap-around services for high-risk families that need after hour coverage to support Wellness Intervention Plans. The participants will be aware of the presence and response of an after-hours staff member which should correlate with a decrease in misconduct, or inappropriate or unauthorized persons incidents within the transition units. Provide immediate family support to families at risk of child protection involvement. You will be required to travel, work flexible hours and lift and carry small children and transport families.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor of Social Work (BSW or BISW) OR
-Four (4) year University undergraduate degree in a related discipline and demonstrated direct child protection services experience OR
-Certificate/Diploma in related discipline and Child Protection experience.
-Knowledge of the FSIN Indian Child and Family Support Act and Saskatchewan Child Welfare Act.
-Knowledge of the Cree, Nakota and Saulteaux Culture and the political and social objectives of the YTCCFS Inc. member First Nations.
Knowledge of poverty and other socioeconomic issues and how they impact people.
-Knowledge of human growth and development and the impact of influencing factors; systematic barriers that affect clients and communities; multicultural beliefs, values and perspectives with particular emphasis on First Nations people; and a range of human behavioural theories and intervention strategies.
-This position is specific to evening/nights and weekends and other designated holidays, working after business hours 4:30pm-8:30
