Description

Sakewewak Artists' Collective (SAC) invites applications for the open Executive Director position. This position presents an exciting opportunity to lead an organization dedicated to supporting Indigenous artists in Saskatchewan.

We're looking for someone who:

- Is a respected member of the arts community.
- Fosters strong and collaborative relationships.
- Is responsible and accountable for their actions and results.
- Champions the arts and the role of Indigenous artists, particularly emerging artists.
- Values cross-cultural connections in the spirit of reconciliation.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Executive Director will:

1. Oversee strategic leadership of the organization by maintaining relationships and communication with the Board, stakeholders and other stewards of SAC's financials; create and build upon consistent and collaborative relationships with other arts organizations, artists, co-presenters and contractors while continuing to cultivate those networks long-term.

2. Develop and execute fundraising strategies in consideration of the organizations internal capacity.

3. Communicate objectives to incoming staff and contractors, as well as provide direction and support on day-to-day operations.

4. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of current legislation and best practices for HR management, guided by SACs Personnel Policy.

5. Manage all other employees in accordance with policy and/or approved budgets.

6. Create a positive and respectful work environment that supports employee engagement and professional development.

7. Ensure that the organization keeps the membership and the arts community informed about SAC news, projects, and opportunities through regular newsletters and social media content.

8. Develop and implement action plans that help to broaden awareness, understanding, and support for the arts among government and community stakeholders.

9. Other duties, as required.
