Description

Porcupine Opportunities Program is looking for a Summer Full Time Direct Support Professionals for the Day Program in Hudson Bay. This person will provide life supports to all individuals in the care of the agency, and supports day programs programming, employment and recreation. The type and extent of care required by each individual is unique and will be identified in their person-centered plans and measured by each participant:  emotional, physical and material well-being; intellectual and personal development; social inclusion; and community engagement.  Staff will work in concert with each other and the Program Manager(s) to best meet individuals needs and aspirations.  The focus will be to engage and build life skills through various methods. To support the development and implementation of daily/weekly/monthly living plans for all residents based on their personal centered plans and to ensure that the best interests of all residents are always observed.    
- Provide continual support and assistance to participants as individuals and as a group including:
- Promote independence, self esteem and inclusion in the areas of self care, communication, recreation, socializing and volunteerism
- Provide health care requirements including delivery and maintenance of medications if required.
- Provide transport to individuals and/or groups as needed within agency or personal vehicles.  
- Assist participants with personal care to promote good hygiene.
- Provide quality programs on site and engage in recreational and leisure activities in the community,
- Provide opportunity for residents to learn and/or improve their daily living skills.
- Provide opportunity for individuals or the residents group to take part in physical, educational, spiritual, and/or recreational activities that meet their personal goals.
- Ensure that program records are kept up to date. This is to include Log Book, Daily Attendance, Seizure/Incident/Medical Reports.
