Description

The Ministry of Highways is seeking a Roadside Development Technician for Central Operations, Traffic Engineering and Development in Saskatoon. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will research and process applications for subdivisions, roadside developments, approaches, utility crossings, pipelines, seismic, and treaty land entitlement submissions.

In this position, you will study air photos, legal plans, and highway construction plans; apply Ministry standards and policies; prepare drawings; and prepare permits.

You will have knowledge and experience related to:

- Roadside management best practices;
- The Torrens Land Survey system;
- The Provincial Highway system;
- The subdivision process; and
- Ministry policies related to the operation of the provincial highway right of way.

You will have the demonstrated ability to:

- Collect and analyze relevant data;
- Manage stakeholders and provide excellent customer service;
- Interpret survey information, legal fabric, maps, plans and engineering drawings;
- Effectively manage your time in a high workload environment;
- Create and generate accurate queries, reports, and documents using a variety of software programs;
- Work alone and in a team environment to meet program needs;
- Consistently plan, organize, and prioritize urgent or routine work, taking into consideration task complexity, conflicting deadlines, and multiple reporting relationships; and
- Draw various plans using AutoCAD.
