Description

The Saskatoon Downtown Youth Centre Inc. - EGADZ requires a Home Family Support Worker interested in a Permanent Part Time shift to provide a safe supportive environment with the Baby Steps Program for the child, while still offering mothers support, structure, and guidance in their attempt to regain custody of their child(ren) in care.(Shift Work:Day/Evenings/Overnights/Weekends).
Baby Steps believes that the parent must be involved in case plans involving their children and their own personal needs to have long term success. Baby steps must follow the Youth Centered Continuum of Care when dealing with the parent as it involves; buy in, citizenship, need of government and non-government agencies to work together in a real partnership teaching various skills to provide outcomes for mother and child.
EGADZ is an inter-agency, non-profit organizations purpose to provide services for hard to serve youth in Saskatoon with the mission to encourage and support them to make choices that improve their quality of life.
Qualifications:
    Early Childhood Education or Post-Secondary education in the human services field, equivalent experience or a combination of both
    Require hands-on real-life experience with children and youth
    Demonstrate and practice a healthy lifestyle
    Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with youth, staff and partnering agencies
    Knowledge of other agencies and resources within our community
    Basic knowledge of nutrition values
    Ability to express ideas and concepts effectively in an oral and written form
    Working knowledge of computers/windows
    Knowledge of Indigenous cultures and issues
    A good understanding of EGADZ and our mission
    Training in CPR and ASIST (ASIST training within the first 6 months of employment)
    Must have a valid drivers license that reflects a safe driving record - A Driver's Abstract is required (Within 3 Months).
    Criminal Records Check w/ Vulnerable Sector (Within 6 mnths)
