Position Description:
Under the general supervision of the Child Care Director and under the direct supervision of the Assistant Director, the Early Childhood Educator is responsible to maintain and develop the children's program with their group of children at the YWCA Lumsden Childcare Centre. This team member must adhere to all the policies and regulations as set out in the Parent Handbook and Child Care Staff Manual.
The position entails working a variety of hours to provide coverage in a diversity of roles. This position combines supporting all age groups and educators in creating and implementing developmentally appropriate programming. The successful candidate will be responsible for children's safety and development.
Responsibilities:
Providing a safe environment for all children
Programming for children utilizing the Play and Exploration principles
Be a team player, punctual, reliable and have a positive attitude
Support and work collaboratively with parents and all stake holders
Communicate professionally, effectively, and respectfully
Qualifications:
Required:
Minimum ECE Level One
Good written and verbal communication skills
CPR/First Aid level C
Criminal record check with vulnerable sector check
Asset:
Experience working with children
