Description

The Town of Arborfield is accepting resumes for a Full-Time, six (6) month term Public Works position.
This is an hourly waged position (wage TBD) and is based on experience and certifications. Weekend water testing is paid as per the Relief WTP Operator policy.
Duties and Responsibilities as assigned by the Foreman:
    Assist in the operation and maintenance of the Water Treatment Plant, Water distribution system, wastewater system, lagoon and perform checks and record pump operations as required by the Foreman and/or Water Security Agency.
    Assist in the repair of water mains, water meters, service connections and manholes
    Read water meters as required
    Fire hydrant maintenance, water line flushing, valve inspections/maintenance
    Street maintenance and drainage management
    24-hour Emergency Standby on scheduled weekends/weekdays.
    Maintain Parks and green spaces
    Public building/ facilities/ sidewalk maintenance

Successful candidate must possess or be willing to obtain:
    Valid Class 5 Driver's License *Required

Skills or abilities that are considered assets:
    Mechanical ability
    Heavy equipment operation
    Experience with public works particularly water and sewer systems
    Organizational and record keeping skills
    Ability to work both independently and co-operatively as part of a team.
