The Support Worker will also have a strong understanding of best practices and standards, ability to complete risk assessments, carry out informal therapy when necessary utilizing different modalities and approaches. Strive to stay up-to-date with community resources and aid in systems navigation. It is the Support Workers role to support clients self-efficacy while connecting them with additional supports and resources as needed.
Under the umbrella of the Canadian Mental Health Association Prince Albert Branch, the Independent Living Program coexists with other unique social and vocational programming developed for the clients. To build rapport and further inform perspective, it is imperative that the Support Worker spend time participating at The Nest (our drop-in centre where most programming is held). Therefore, the Support Worker must be able to work independently and as part of a great team.
