Reporting to the Director of Child and Family Well-Being, the Family Support Worker will provide a range of services designed to provide preventative and support services to children and their families.
Provide prevention support services to One Arrow First Nation community members that are involved or may become involved with CFS;
Work with child and family service providers to create and develop family centered case plans with short- and long-term goals to ensure on-going support is available;
Identify and prioritize referrals for service, develop intervention plans, consult with other professionals as necessary, and complete documentation in accordance with professional standards of practice;
Advocate on behalf of clients to ensure access to services and resources; remove barriers to independence and promote client well-being;
Work with families to promote traditional parenting approaches, healthy family lifestyle engagements and child development;
Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support the needs of the children and families;
Collaborate with the First Nation Representative to participate in all service plans, plans of care or service development for One Arrow First Nation members;
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors Degree in Social Work/Indigenous Social Work with
experience in child protection/prevention.
Experience working with First Nation communities.
Full understanding of the Saskatchewan Child and Family Services Act.
Ability to speak/understand Cree and knowledge of Cree Culture would be an asset
