Reporting to the Project Management Team Lead, the Project Leaders provide a lead role to manage and execute projects for clients. The Project Leader is responsible for managing scope, schedule, and budget for the projects that they are assigned. The main focus of this role is materials handling and value-added processing development. This position will start as a 1-year contract with the potential to move into a permanent position.
Duties & Responsibilities:
General understanding of technical project work, with experience in applying these to the agriculture, mining, or transportation sectors.
Provide leadership to projects involving materials handling equipment, agricultural product testing, and value-added processing development.
Provide expertise and leadership during projects by scheduling internal resources, preparing and managing budgets.
As a functional manager, have a standard understanding of processes to resolve issues, motivate others, and establish relevant key performance indicators.
A champion of best people, practices, systems, and processes. Safety- and process-oriented, with the ability to apply and implement this in a project environment.
Strong communication (written, oral, presentation) skills with the ability to effectively engage at a variety of management levels and with a range of audiences.
Developed interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build collaborative relationships with colleagues, contractors and clients.
Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree or diploma (in science, business, engineering, or other related discipline)
Minimum 5 years experience in project management
Must be proficient with MS Project
Experience with Project Online and PowerBi is considered an asset
Project Management Professional designation is considered an asset
P.Eng. designation is considered an asset
