Description

Southwest Homes is seeking a compassionate, collaborative leader to serve as Executive Director. Reporting to the Board, the ED oversees all operations, strategic initiatives, staff leadership, and community engagement. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership in the non-profit or human services sector, a passion for inclusion, and a commitment to team-building and transparency. Experience with governance, financial oversight, and union environments is preferred. Criminal record check with vulnerable sector search and bondable status required.

Position Overview: Reports to the Board of Directors. Holds overall responsibility for all aspects of the organizations operations. Is accountable for internal (staff, participant) and external (families, suppliers, community, funders, etc.) relationships. Is responsible for the successful leadership, management and implementation of the strategic goals and objectives of the organization according to Board direction. Holds primary responsibility for all staff and operations as well as ensuring proper administration of policies, legislation and collective agreement.

Responsibilities include: Governance Collaboration with a Board of Directors, Strategic Planning and Direction, Oversight of all Service Delivery and Operations, Financial and Capital Oversight, Human Resources, Advocacy and Stakeholder Relations, & Public Relations.

Skills & Abilities  Team player and team builder with outstanding leadership abilities  Consistently demonstrates dignity and respect when dealing with others  Demonstrates sound and respected judgment, initiative and self-direction  Able to drive the development and implementation of strategic initiatives over years  Financial and strategic acumen, supported by strong administrative ability to use relevant software and accounting programs  Able to develop, implement, and evaluate developmental programs  Effectively applies professional standards of confidentiality.
