The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA) is a Treasury Board Crown responsible for emergency communications including Sask911 and SaskAlert, wildfire management, emergency management, and fire safety. This centralized agency ensures a single point of contact for communities, greater co-ordination of provincial resources, and contributes to safer communities in our province.
The Opportunity
The SPSA is seeking an organized, results-oriented, team player for the position of Data Analyst, in the Emergency Communications, Technical and Support Services Division/Branch. The position reporting to the Director of Information Technology will be responsible for:
- Provide support to the Provincial 9-1-1 system including development of data models, standards, and best practices for supporting Next Generation 9-1-1 GIS;
- Assist with the development of processes and protocols supporting the GIS aggregator role within Sask911;
- Work closely with stakeholders such as the Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure, SaskTel, ISC, and other contributing GIS data providers and stakeholders in the updating of information consumed by the Provincial 9-1-1 system;
- Work directly with municipal and other resources in gathering, interpreting, and entering updated information into the core GIS 9-1-1 and public safety dispatch systems;
- Actively participate in NENA, APCO, and other industry and vendor working groups and development sessions;
- Engage with key contributors and consumers of the Civic Address Registry System, the provincial road network, and other core GIS datasets to identify improvements to the data, workflows, processes, or supporting technology;
