Description

The Facilities Supervisor leads a team of professional and trades staff to provide multi-year facility capital planning, monitoring and reporting, maintenance, repairs and caretaking services, working to provide safe, healthy, well-maintained and efficient schools, grounds and other facilities. Reporting to the Deputy Director, Operations/CFO, the Facilities Supervisor is part of the Divisions senior management team.

What will make you successful:
A degree or designation in Engineering or Business Administration or a related field and five to eight years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
A Project Management designation (PMP or CAPM) is an asset
Demonstrated experience in leading teams of professional and administrative staff
A highly organized and analytical thinker with the ability to analyze situations, evaluate alternatives and implement solutions
Ability to exercise independent judgment, taking into account both system standards and unique circumstances
Expert level knowledge of project planning, management and control structures
Ability to work in an interdependent team environment, incorporating input and providing input from a variety of perspectives and sources
Ability to plan, direct, and coordinate activities of diverse teams and cross-functional groups
Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms
Knowledge of organizational development, human resources management and PreK to Grade 12 program operations
Theoretical and practical knowledge of human resource hiring, development, management, succession planning and performance evaluation processes and practices
Knowledge of financial management principles and their application in a large and complex organization
Ability to manage confidential material and maintain staff and student privacy.
