The primary responsibility of the Employment Program Job Coach is to work with the Employment Program Facilitator to develop and deliver a structured Life Skills/Pre-Employment program designed for people who face multiple barriers to employment. Working one-on-one and in small groups the Employment Program Job Coach helps clients learn and develop skills to help them gain independence, be responsible, and successfully bridge to further education, training, or employment. The Job Coach identifies and arranges appropriate learning and experiential opportunities in the community, provides classroom instruction, technical computer support and role modeling, develops individualized participant plans in the areas of personal development, education and vocational planning, monitors, evaluates and provides reports on participant progress, and assists participants to manage challenges and crisis events through counselling, support, advocacy and referrals where appropriate.
