Description

The City of Swift Current is inviting applicants for the position of Museum Collections Management Assistant within the Community Services Division. This is a temporary internship position working 35 hours/week reporting to the General Manager of Cultural and Aquatic Services. This 6-month term will begin on May 1, 2025, and end October 15, 2025.

This position involves a variety of collections management related tasks, including maintenance of physical storage and handling of collections. Some physical labour required, which includes the ability to lift and/or move 22.5kg, as collections items need to be transported between floors.

Qualifications:
    Field of study in Museum Studies, History or related discipline;
    Experience in museums or archives would be an asset;
    Knowledge of Photoshop, Metadata and databases, particularly Collective Access would be an asset;
    Effective communication skills and the ability to work with others;
    Meticulous and strong organizational skills; and,
    Critical thinking and writing skills.
