Description

The File Hills QuAppelle Tribal Council is a dynamic and progressive organization that provides a range of programs and health services which serve eleven First Nations throughout Southern Saskatchewan within the Treaty Four Territory.

Reporting to the Manager of the Womens Health Centre or designate, the Registered Nurse will be responsible for delivering culturally responsive care and services to women across their reproductive lifespan, including prenatal and post-natal care, supporting intrapartum care, and follow up. Working in a wholistic and culturally responsive philosophy, and within the RN scope of practice this position will provide information and counselling related to birth control, pre- and post-natal care, support intrapartum care, communicable disease follow-up, and home visits within the Tribal Council communities. This position will also work closely with the Community Health Nursing team to provide coordinated care to clients and families.

Qualifications:
    Degree in Nursing and be eligible for membership with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan
    Minimum three years experience in obstetrics/ pre and postnatal care
    Experience working in community health
    Ability to work with Traditional Knowledge Keepers and community members with familiarity and respect for all cultures and traditions
    Valid Saskatchewan drivers license

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships and to work in a multidisciplinary team based working environment
    Strong clinical skills related to maternal child health.
    Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (verbal and written)
    Inoculist certification an asset.
    Knowledge of and proficiency in Panorama Immunization and IOM an asset
    Demonstrated computer skills
