Description

The Justice Reintegration worker will perform his/her duties in accordance with the standards of the Muskeg Lake Cree Nation under the supervision and direction of the Chief Operations Officer. This position will receive advice and support from the Muskeg Lake Cree Nation Justice Worker and the STC Justice program.
The Justice Reintegration worker will work within the mandate of the existing Justice program and ensure the goals, objectives, operating practices, and the priorities of the community are met. The Justice Reintegration worker will provide pre and post community supports to assist individuals in successfully completing recommendations/healing plans in their post sentence Gladue/reports in meeting the terms of their sentences.  The work will include working with clients with conditions set out in their probation orders.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Maintain files for clients in the reintegration program;
    Manage, assess, evaluate, and monitor clients progress;
    Develop individualized plans with clients;
    Enhance Culture and involvement of knowledge keepers (Elders) in the Reintegration program;
    Encourage family/kinship involvement when working with Reintegration clients;
    Assist client to navigate challenges in housing, employment, education, health care and social assistance;
    Assist clients in developing Life skills in budgeting, time management, social skills and basic computer skills;
    Work with clients to ensure they are being treated fairly and receive the support they need;
    Work to reduce the stigma clients may experience upon reintegrating back into community;
    Transport Reintegration clients to appointments when requested;
    Develop positive working relationships and work co-operatively with front line staff in the community;
    Work to establish and maintain positive working relationships with outside agencies as it pertains to reintegration clients on your caseload;
    Attend case management meetings as required.
