Description

The MLTC Child & Family Services Department is seeking compassionate, dynamic, highly motivated individuals to fill full time, permanent positions of Child & Family Therapists. Under the direction of the CFS Senior Director, the Child & Family Therapists are responsible for the assessment and treatment needs of children and youth suffering from mental health diagnosis and various other complex needs. Services will include intake, assessment, diagnosis, treatment and crisis intervention. Positions are available at both the Main Office in Meadow Lake/Flying Dust and at the Buffalo Narrows Sub Office.

Qualifications

Minimum:
    Bachelors Degree in Social Work with three (3) to five (5) plus years experience in clinical counselling
Preferred:
    Masters Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Counselling
    Five (5) plus years in clinical counselling

Other:
    Registration with the appropriate, applicable professional designation will be required.
    Able to write comprehensive assessments and maintain appropriate clinical/client/ administrative records are required.
    Sound knowledge on counselling practices; able to maintain strict confidentiality; and able to demonstrate strong ethical judgements.
    Excellent communication skills (verbal/written), assessment skills, interpersonal skills, time-management skills, and organizational skills.
    Required to work flexible hours, which will often include evening and occasional weekend work including supporting the 24 hours on call process.
    Ability to take initiative and work both independently and as a team member.
    Proficient with computers, i.e., Data management software, Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
    Be familiar with and understand First Nations barriers/issues/culture.
    Willingness to travel and possession of a valid drivers licence.
    Preference will be given to individuals who speak Cree and/or Dene.
