Description

Willow Cree Health Services Corp (WCHS) is seeking an Addictions Counsellor in the Mental Health & Addictions Department.  Under the general direction of the Mental Health & Addiction Coordinator, the Addiction Counsellor is responsible for the day to day client service delivery (development, implementation, delivery and assists with evaluation) of Addiction Services.  Performs clinical case management, community/program education and develop
    Mental health & addictions counseling services to outpatient clientele report preparation, team meetings, maintenance of client records;
    Advocate & consult with other health care providers and community agencies for clients as outlined in their treatment plan;
    Develop and maintain effective working relationships and manage client cases with other health care professionals within the organization and community;
    Provide crisis management as needed, Flexibility to work evenings and respond to occasional crisis calls from clients outside of working hours;
    Administration duties will include completion of weekly & monthly client updates/reports using Microsoft Office, email & internet;
    Knowledge, experience & participation within the Indigenous holistic framework of WCHS (spiritual, mental, emotional, physical activities); and,
    Required to attend various related training and participate in quality improvement activities.
    Ability to handle stressful situations in a professional manner;
    Knowledge of community, outpatient and inpatient service delivery systems;
    Maintain strict confidentiality.
    Social Work Degree, Human Service Degree or Addictions Counsellor Diploma;
    Experience in Addictions counselling will be considered.
    Minimum of three years experience in Addictions counselling surrounding issues of Alcohol and Drug abuse;
    Facilitate educational/informational treatment options to clients and community;
    Knowledgeable in Treatment options
