Lake Country Co-op invites applications for the position of Full-Time Meat Cutter Trainee at our Food Store location in Nipawin, Saskatchewan.
Reporting to the Meat Team Leader, responsibilities for this position include the following:
Demonstrate the behaviors and actions to support Lake Country Co-operatives vision, mission, values, and safety principles to make a difference in members lives, with a strong customer focused approach.
Provide Legendary Service at all touch points through various communication channels.
Learn to cut, trim, grind and prepare various cuts of meat according to customer requests or store requirements.
Prepare products to Co-op standards, package and label finished products, maintain production records.
Maintain and display all types of meat products according to department standards.
Monitor code dates to always ensure the freshest inventory on the shelf; follow first in, first out (FIFO).
Ensure a culture of safety while maximizing operational efficiency.
Keep accurate records to support procedures and inventory management including completing paperwork required for claims, damages and shortages.
Maintain cleanliness of workstations, tools, and equipment.
Support and follow the Asset Protection and Safety Management systems, policies, and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.

You have completed grade 12 or equivalent experience; previous meat cutting experience and meat cutter trade certification is an asset.
You must be willing and able to participate in an intensive, in-store meat cutter training program according to established timelines.
You are familiar with Food Safe procedures and practices.
You have experience with band saw, manual cutting utensils and techniques, grinder and slicer are an asset.
You can fulfill physical job requirements; able to reach, bend, stoop and lift up to 40 lbs regularly and larger weights
