Description

Since 1974, Carmacks Enterprises Ltd. has grown from a small municipal road contractor, to a multi-faceted general civil construction service and highway maintenance organization. Operating throughout Western Canada, Carmacks Enterprises is an industry leader in handling all aspects of heavy civil construction.
We are currently seeking seasonal, full time Flaggers for our Highways Division to work in Saskatchewan. The work will be in Colonsay, SK and surrounding areas.

What is the role?
Using hand signals and direction signs to direct traffic around road construction sites
Communicating with other flaggers using hand-held radios to direct two-way traffic onto a single lane
Informing the construction crew of any traffic issues that may affect their safety
Appropriately positioning warning and detour signs around construction sites
Setting up barricades and traffic cones along construction sites to cordon off certain areas
Removing all signs, barricades, and traffic cones upon completion of construction work
Assisting the construction crew in the removal of rubble, debris, and hazardous materials
Recording the license plate numbers of motorists who neglect to obey traffic signs and directions
Other duties as assigned

What do we value?
Class 5 Drivers license with a clean driving record
Experience in either Traffic Control or Construction industries is an asset
Traffic Control Training Certification preferred
Sound knowledge of traffic regulations
Able to stand for extended period in harsh weather conditions
Team player

Effective communication skills
