Description

Responsibilities:
- Provides strategic direction and leadership on critical decisions affecting the CLSI, working in collaboration with the CEO and Executive Management to ensure systems, processes and personnel in the Finance division are aligned with the strategic direction and facility-wide initiatives.
- Provides strategic direction and leadership of all financial functions.
- Oversees all internal and external financial reporting requirements.
- Plays a key role in supporting and reporting to the CLS Board of Directors and its Finance and Audit Committee.
- Collaborates with the Executive Management Team on the development and administration of corporate reporting requirements and protocols including appropriate authorities and approvals, internal reporting, budgeting and forecasting, capital budgeting and accounting to maintain relations and responsibilities to funding partners and other stakeholders.
- Acts as an expert resource in financial matters for the CLSI and assists others in dealing with related and complex situations as they arise.
- Directs the evolution and continuous improvement of frameworks supporting the functions located within the division, including policies and programs.
- Provides guidance and advice to direct reports, working through them to ensure responsive and effective delivery of the full range of financial services.
- Ensures appropriate staffing levels and human resources supports for the Finance division.  
- Directs relations with corporate legal counsel and auditors.

Required Qualifications:
- A relevant undergraduate degree.
- A minimum of ten years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience in leadership and management roles.
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
