We are looking for a highly motivated individual to assist in the professional exhibition program and maintenance of the Mann Art Gallerys Permanent Collection. The Collections Assistant will research and compile data on a selection of the 4,000 artworks in the Permanent Collection. This includes creating database records on SaskCollections, completing condition reports, and taking high-quality artwork photographs as necessary. They will also assist in ongoing efforts to improve the storage of artworks. Finally, when necessary, the Collections Assistant will assist with exhibition preparation and installation. The successful candidate will work alongside the contract Registrar and the Interim Artistic Director. Some evening work is required.
Best-suited candidates will have educational and practical experience in visual arts, art history, or cultural management. Knowledge or interest in Indigenous and Saskatchewan art is an asset. The candidate should be organized, be able to work independently and with people in a team environment, and possess excellent communication skills. Familiarity with Windows computer systems, word processing, photo editing software, and email is also important. The successful candidate must be fluent in English. Basic competencies in French and/or Cree are an asset.
The successful candidate must have a Criminal Record Check & Vulnerable Sector Screening.
Eligible Candidates:
Canadian citizens or permanent residents, or have refugee status in Canada (non-Canadians holding temporary work visas or awaiting permanent status are not eligible)
Are between 16 and 30 years of age at the start of employment;
Will not have another full-time job (over 30 hours a week) while employed with the program;
Must be returning to full-time studies in the fall of 2025;
