Description

Duties and responsibilities:
-    Support adults in the Fletcher Day Program (e.g., on-site & community-based activities) & adults experiencing disabilities 1:1 in Martensville/Saskatoon to help them achieve their unique independent living skills goals and needs.
-    Provide an engaging, interactive, safe, and fun atmosphere for participants
-    Work independently and as part of a team
-    Assist with personal care
-    Teaching daily living skills (e.g., housework, transportation training, menu planning, cooking, interpersonal skills)
-    Assistance in dealing with community professionals (e.g., doctors, landlords, utility contact personnel)
-    Assistance in finding housing (e.g., calls, viewing, meeting landlords, hook-ups, guidance re: choices/availability)
-    Assist clients to manage socially appropriate behaviours
-    Provide transportation as required (Day Program & 1:1)

Qualifications:
Education:
-    Disability or Rehabilitation Support Worker Certificate and/or related training and experience
-    Valid Class 5 Drivers License & access to a working/reliable vehicle
-    Valid First Aid/CPR/AED Certification or willingness to obtain within three months
-    Additional courses such as TLR and PART considered an asset
Experience:
-    One year experience in related field
Skills:
-    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-    Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to work effectively with individuals experiencing disabilities
-    Open minded, creative, effective time management, problem-solving & organizational skills

Final Candidates are required to provide satisfactory criminal record checks including a vulnerable sector search.
