The Terminal Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely transfer of bulk liquid and dry products including hazardous materials between railcars and trucks. This role involves operating and maintaining equipment such as loader, forklift, railcar moving equipment and skid steer to load and unload products.
Ability to understand and follow operating procedures and policies.
Ability to operate or learn to operate railcar loading systems and equipment.
Ability to operate or learn to operate railcar movers to move tank and grain cars safely and effectively in rail yard.
Ability to perform work safely and productively.
Ability and interest in being cross trained on all operations at the facility.
Communicate effectively and not be afraid to ask questions.
Accurately completing necessary documentation
Adheres to company policies and procedures and willing to enforce them with other employees, contractors, and visitors.
Assist with other general duties within the facility (general maintenance, yard upkeep)
Willing to work a rotating shift work schedule, overtime, holidays, nights, and weekends as required.
Willing to be on call and meet call-out standards to respond to site responsibilities.
Physically able to climb up and down railcars/ladders safely, walk up and down steps, and work at heights.
Willing to work outside in inclement weather.
Willing to work with liquid hazardous and dry bulk materials.
Can carry at least fifty (50) pounds.
In good physical condition (able to walk one (1) to two (2) miles per shift)
Read, write, and understand English.
Basic math skills
Valid Drivers License
