Sherwood Forest Golf Club is home to a 10,000 square foot outdoor swimming pool and we are seeking dedicated and responsible Lifeguards to join our team. You will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe environment through active supervision, enforcing rules, and responding effectively to emergencies.  

Job duties
o    Ensures that proper safety procedures are followed and in cases of emergency, performs first aid, water rescues and other lifeguarding skills and techniques as required.
o    Carries out responsible lifeguard and instructional duties and ensures a safe and healthy environment conducive to aquatic enjoyment and education.
o    Supervises the activities of the patrons using the facility, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
o    Maintains good public relations with patrons and facility staff.
o    Identify safety risks and prevent incidents before they happen.
o    Fill out thorough and accurate accident reports and report to the Supervisor or Manager immediately
o    Complete required cleaning.  Cleaning includes anything in the pool area (change rooms, fence, grass, water station etc)
o    Other duties as reasonably assigned by the Lead Lifeguard or General Manager

Required Skills
o    Knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques employed in water safety, lifeguarding and instructing.
o    Be able to respond quickly and calmly in emergency situations
o    Knowledge of instructional techniques.
o    Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with customers and fellow employees.
o    Must be able to work weekends, statutory holidays and evenings.

Required Qualifications
o    Lifesaving Society Swim for Life (SFL)
o    Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard Service (NLS  Pool Lifeguard)
o    First Aid and CPR Level C/AED
o    Vulnerable Sector Check
