Job Posting: K-12 Physical Education Teacher Keeseekoose First Nations School
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Physical Education (PE) Teacher to join our K-12 First Nations school community. This role offers the opportunity to teach PE across all grade levels, from Kindergarten through Grade 12, with class assignments varying based on student interest.
About the Role:
Teach physical education in a supportive, culturally rich First Nations environment.
Adapt lessons to meet diverse grade levels and student interests.
Collaborate with staff to integrate land-based learning and community events into the curriculum.
Participate in and support school-wide events such as land-based camps, swimming programs, and cultural activities including round dances and visiting guest presentations.
Encourage student and family engagement in community dinners, shows, and other events to strengthen ties between school and community.
Qualifications:
Teaching certification with a focus or experience in Physical Education.
Experience working in or understanding of First Nations communities and cultures is highly valued.
Flexibility and enthusiasm for teaching a wide range of grades.
Strong communication skills to coordinate with students, staff, families, and community members.
