The Role
The Radiation Specialist position will provide technical, analytical, and logistical support, maintenance, and quality assurance for the radiation protection programs at Camecos Mining Division. You will provide technical and analytical support for the radiation program as well as lead projects within the radiation departments. The position is shared by Camecos four northern Saskatchewan sites and reports to the corporate senior health physicist in the compliance and licensing department. This is a one-year temporary position.
In this role you will:
-Provide technical and analytical support for the radiation program, including routine calibrations of radiation equipment and analyzing samples
-Implement the radiation protection program and standards at the sites, including modifying or improving documentation, ensuring proper equipment use and consistency across the company
-Provide routine support including:
-Daily monitor and sample radiological parameters
-Represent the radiation department at job hazard analyses
-Complete incident investigations
-Enter data in a database of worker and workplace radiation
information
-Managing radiation monitoring data and generating reports.
-Assist in the administration of radiation data
Required:
-Bachelors degree in physics, engineering, or a related field
-Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
-Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills
-Work a 14-day rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
-Work independently and as part of a team with safety as a core value
Recommended:
-Knowledge or experience in the nuclear industry
-Previous work experience with radiation protection principles and data analytics techniques
