Description

Mitsubishi Power Canada, Ltd. is a major supplier of steam turbines, gas turbines and generators to the energy industry in Canada. We are currently seeking for a welding specialist to join our team.

Responsibilities:
Promote a safe working environment.
Read and interpret blueprints and other technical documents.
Operate welding and cutting equipment (manual and automated).
Use of hand and power tools.
Completion of quality documentation.
General organization, housekeeping, and maintenance of the production facility and equipment.
Participate in the planning of projects.
Travel to/from and work on customer sites.
Contribute to building a positive team spirit.
Communicate effectively with coworkers at all levels.
Protect confidential information by not communicating, disclosing to, or using for benefit of third parties.
Maintain the highest degree of honesty and integrity at all times.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirement/Qualifications:
Demonstrated commitment to safety.
Grade 12 or equivalent.
Journeyperson welder or Red Seal certification.
Experience with Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding required.
Manual dexterity and demonstrated ability with precision hand finishing/blending.
Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team.
Demonstrated written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work extended hours and/or shift work during peak times.
Normal working hours are Mon-Fri 8 hrs/day.
Ability to travel to various world-wide locations.
Basic computer skills.
Experience with Plasma Tungsten Arc (PTA) welding considered an asset.
Millwright experience considered an asset.
