Description

The Nutrition Program Facilitator at the Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre plans and delivers cooking programming that promotes food literacy and nutrition education in the community. This role involves creating and delivering cooking and nutrition-based programming aimed at equipping individuals with the skills and knowledge to make healthier food choice

This is a one year contract for maternity leave, 30 hours weekly
Start date: Flexible ideally late June.

Program Development & Delivery:
- Build relationships and liaise with community groups and community organizations to engage interested participants
- Work with the Program Manager and other Program Facilitators to recruit and manage program participants and volunteers
- Work with the Program Manager to do needs analysis, design, and develop curriculum to meet diverse client needs

Group Facilitation & Teaching:
- Deliver weekly online cooking classes to diverse groups, primarily using Zoom
- Help participants navigate the technology needed to run the cooking classes

Communications
- Contribute photos and social media posts to the SFBLC's communications team
- Develop other food literacy content for SFBLC's social media accounts

Qualifications:
- Experience in areas of nutrition, public health, food service management, health promotion,  or related disciplines
- A passion for food and cooking, and familiarity with basic nutrition topics and food safety principles
- Experience working in the community sector with diverse groups, including vulnerable populations
- Experience using software such as Zoom and Microsoft Office
- Experience teaching or facilitating workshops
- Ability to take initiative and contribute creative ideas for impactful food and nutrition programming
- Multi-tasking, time management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, including cross-cultural awareness and understanding
